July 23, 2011 - Katy Budget Books. Had a great time at the book signing. What a wonderful, courteous, and helpful staff they have there. Makes for a great place to bring the whole family. I loved meeting a 10 year old girl, Fernanda, who approached me at the table and asked, "What inspired you to write the book?" She was my first sale of the day, and I learned that she, too, wants to be an author. I hope she writes to tell me what she thought of the book.
I was pretty excited to see my name on the billboard outside!
Before Karla let me leave, she escorted me to the back room to do a hand print. I wrote "Saving Nikki" at the top and signed my name at the bottom. Then I placed my hand onto a plate filled with my choice of tempera paint colors, and pressed my hand in between the printing. They will frame the picture and put it on the wall of authors who have signed books in their store. What a fun idea!
My table was set up right in front of the J. K. Rowling, Harry Potter display. Hope some of the good karma rubbed off.
